I'm all about systems, ESPECIALLY systems that work. I think in the beginning stages of any practice, a solid system to follow relieves an uneasy mind and keeps you motivated and curious to learn more- magic!
I've adopted this philosophy in my yoga classes, and over the past few weeks, we've been working our way through the 10 Living Principles of Yoga: The Yamas and Niyamas.
We've made it all the way through the six yamas, and this week we are focused on niyama 3: TAPAS. Tapas is often thought of as a practice of cultivating your inner fire- that inner UMPH! that can get you through one more pose, one more mile, one more email, or one more load of dishes!
But like most things, tapas is quite a bit more than that. Tapas is a moment by moment intentional focus on creating a life of meaning, and channeling your energy consciously into making that life a reality - a reality that you EXPERIENCE a little more each and every day.
What lights your inner spark? And what keeps that flame alive? And how can you INTENTIONALLY INSERT those inspirations into your day?
You have the answers- now go do it!!
Light your heart on fire and let your spirit soar*
