"God is There (HERE), Always."
As I was sitting on my mat and meditation blanket this AM, watching my mind as it wandered here and there (pretty typical of my experience thus far ;) ), I began to hook into thoughts about the ordering of "tasks" of my day: what to have for breakfast, emails first? write first? run errands, exercise, what type of movement do I want to do today? (You know these sorts of thoughts, right?)
And then something within me hit pause: "WAIT! What you're doing right now isn't just "time carved out for devotion. You can't just pick and choose where you want God to be, or when you want God to be with you. GOD IS THERE (HERE) ALWAYS, whether you remember it or not. And DEVOTION is how you choose to show up for each and every moment of your experience.
Each breath? God is there. Each thought? God is there. Each to-do list item that you (I) can get SO caught up in? God is there. Which means that there is an opportunity reaching out to you and me in each and every moment: to bring that God-remembrance and prayer or meditation-like devotion to it. What could washing the dishes look and feel like? Preparing breakfast? On the treadmill? Driving and running errands? How we treat ourselves and others.
Feel a shift? Stay there. THAT, that expression of DEVOTION in all you do, is your TRUTH.
With Love and Devotion,
